Debating in our BSME schools is a long standing tradition that has developed thousands of children over the years and given them skills they can use in so many different parts of their lives. BSME Debates has reemerged like so many things that happen in schools from a simple conversation and dynamic individuals. BSME CEO, Debra Forsyth, was visiting GEMS Founders School, Dubai and as usual was discussing about even more opportunities to offer our members. One of our Deputy Heads of Secondary, Jeremy Grigg, came in to see my in the office and a conversation was sparked on the BSME Debates in the past and how great it would be to reintroduce them for our children. We are now back offering this wonderful opportunity to our member schools and their children. The skill of debating and the development of this skill is so critical to the development of young people. It allows them to consider information, digest and fact check, challenge their own thinking and create arguments that may not necessarily even resonate with their own personal belief system.
